Terms and conditions

By making a booking with us, you agree with the following:

Payment method- We currently only accept cash payment. We are located near a shopping centre where you will find cash machines if required. Payment by BACS is also accepted by arrangement only.

To secure your booking- A £15 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking which will be deducted from your total order. If you are late to your appointment by more than 10 minutes or fail to turn up, your deposit whether in cash or voucher, will be forfeited. Please see note below in regards to being late. If you are having castings for more than one item, £15 will need to be paid for each item, as each one is classed as a separate appointment, due to the time it will take for the extra castings. If you fail to make an appointment within two weeks or confirm an appointment within a weeks time your deposit will be forfeited unless otherwise discussed. All quotes last a maximum of two weeks at the given price. After this prices may increase. Once the price and frame has been agreed upon a contract is formed. Should you wish to make any changes you will be responsible for any fees this incurs, unless otherwise agreed. 50% of the balance will have to be made at the time of the appointment.

Please ensure you inform us as to how many people will be attending the casting. This includes those being cast and any dependents or non casting adults. Health and safety is our priority and we wish for your casting to take place in the best environment for both parties.

Cancelling an appointment- If you provide a minimum of 48 hours notice you will be able to rearrange your appointment once but no refund will be provided in absolute cancellation. A minimum of 48 hours notice is also required to change your order.

*** If you are more than ten minutes late to your appointment please inform us so we can advise you whether it is possible for your appointment to still go ahead. If it is impossible to continue with your appointment no refund will be given of your deposit so please ensure you arrive on time. ***

Should any disputes arise during the process ABC Casts holds the permission to cancel your order and refund your 50% payment minus the non-refundable deposit.

Mouldings- Castings are a hand made item and therefore castings may happen to have air bubbles which cause holes in the casting. If these cannot be fixed then you will be asked to come back to recast this. Re-casting will be charged after the second try as this will be due to the movements of the child affecting the alginate. 

Handmade product- All castings and works are hand made products so exact copies cannot be created or made. If you should choose to have glitter letters, please be aware that this may drop off and we cannot ensure an exact equal coverage. If you would like uniformity we advise you to choose painted letters instead.

Timings- We advise that completion takes around 8 weeks but to ensure you have your completed piece well before you require it eg for a special occasion, we advise you have your casting taken a minimum of 12 weeks beforehand. We cannot be held liable for any acts of God or due to illness. Deadlines given by ABC Casts are taken seriously and our customer’s satisfaction is of paramount importance.

Health & safety- We run through the process of what will happen during the appointment but in order for you to know this in detail prior to your appointment please ask.

It is important that you are aware that life casting is a hands on experience. This means that your life caster will have to touch the area being cast, which of course will be carried out with the greatest of care. They may be wearing gloves so if you have an allergy to vinyl or latex please let us know.

It is also essential that you inform us of any allergies of the following:

Removal of the material from a part of your body may create a temporary redness but this will disappear and fade within ten minutes.

The casting studio can become wet during the casting process so we ask all our customers to take care and to ensure children are prevented from running around both inside and outside of the studio.

The casting studio is situated within a private property, within the grounds of a house, which comes with the usual hazards and trip hazards therefore please keep children and pets under control at all times. CCTV may be in operation.

Uncollected works- When a casting is completed, you will either be messaged or called to inform you of this and arrange a collection. Therefore, please ensure we have the correct contact details. As we do not have the facilities to store any castings and in order to prevent any damage from occurring we advise you to arrange a collection within one week of the works being completed, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon. If item is picked up within two weeks but over one week a surcharge of £50 will be payable. If the item has not been collected within two weeks, it becomes the sole property of ABC Casts and any payments including deposits will not be refunded.

 ABC Casts will not be liable for any damage or condition to your frame once it has been collected and left the site of ABC Casts.

Please ensure you are happy with your frame at the time of collection.

Gift vouchers- These expire within six months unless otherwise stated so please ensure you have used these before their expiry date. If you are late or fail to turn up to your appointment, this will be deducted from your gift voucher total.
